Description

Based on the EW1 standard wagons with bellows and an ABDe4/8 driver’s cab, six Bt control wagons were delivered to the BLS in 1963 by the Schweizerische Waggonfabrik Schlieren (SWS).
In 1970, three more of these control cars were delivered to the BLS based on the modernized EW1 with a rubber bead and an extended car body. The control cars were used, among other things, in shuttle trains. From 2005, four converted control cars with the new numbers BDt 946-949 were in use with car trains and the Bt 951-953, modernized with external swing doors, ran in the shuttle trains.
